Skate Sharpening

b-sharp ottawa inc. strives to provide the highest quality of skate sharpening to all of our customers. b-sharp offers a wide range of services to enhance our customers figure skating and hockey careers. From advanced figure skate blades like the John Wilson Gold Seal, to the pressure relieving Flare hockey blade, we can sharpen it all for you.

Walk-In’s and Appointments

We welcome skaters to drop-in at any time for skate sharpening. We do suggest appointments for Skate Fittings, as they require more time and attention for the best results.  Want to plan your day around your busy schedule? Skip the line, Book online!

Skate Fitting

We specialize in both Aura and TRUE Custom Fit skates utilizing 3D modeling technology. We are the Canadian leader in Aura fit and repair. Why buy skates that mostly fit when you can skates that TRUE-ly fit.

We also fit for all brands of manufactured Figure Skates. Whether you’re little one is just starting out and needs their first pair of skates, or you’re an adult skater getting back on the ice after 20 years, we will be able to recommend the right skate for you.

• Skate fittings are free with purchase or skates.
• $30 to check someone else’s fitting or to size used skates.

Profiling

We provide REAL skate Profiling services. Box stores will "Profile" your skates without measuring your balance points and adjusting toe and heel heights. We take care of that for you. If you would like contours from Pro-Sharp or CAG, we adjust our profiling templates to accommodate. Our Barrhaven location has our manual profiling machine, which allows us to do blades that are not removable from skates, which our Elite E-P3 cannot accommodate, as well as blades that need to be done singularly, like Flare or Bauer Carbon's.

Dual Radius: 7'-13', 8'-12', 9.5'-10.5', 26'-30'

Heel Glide

EL3.1: (6’-12’-16’) Large, Standard, (5’-10’-13’) Junior - Light, agile toe, with a very slight forward pitch feel. Flatter heel provides good stability. Good mix of agility, power, and stability. (Similar to the Prosharp Zuperior.)

EL4.1 Quad: (6’-9’-11’-13’) Large, Standard, (5’-8’-10’-12’) Junior - Fast, powerful, solid. Smooth transitions. Slight forward pitch feel. The lightest feel of the quads. (The 4.1 is similar to the Prosharp Quad Zero.)

EL4.2 Quad: (7’-10’-13’-16’) Large, Standard - A little less agile feeling than the 4.1, with good balance. A good mix of power and agility. Extremely solid, stable feeling profile. (The 4.2 is similar to the Prosharp Quad 2.)
